In the project Samlande i Norrbotten (Collecting in Norrbotten), which is part of the exhibition Samla & visa, Anders Kristensson creates a series of documentary photographs of collectors and collections in Norrbotten County.
Kristensson's work with the project will be shown in our digital channels and the finished photographs will be exhibited at Konstmuseet i Norr when the museum re-opens physically.
“Through life, we collect friends, household goods and things that are important to us. It will be exciting to meet people in Norrbotten who collect, and try to convey the stories that their collections carry. Maybe there is an element of longing built into every collection, through the memories that are linked to the objects?”
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Anders Kristensson has a degree in photography from Fotohögskolan in Gothenburg and is based in Malmö. He has worked as a photographer for 30 years. His interest in the people of Norrbotten and the sub-mountain landscape was sparked during a month-long portrait photography trip in the county in 1992. Since then he has regularly returned to Norrbotten to cover stories about the forest, the agriculture, the mines and the people of the sparsely populated areas.
