During the celebration of the opening of Kiruna’s new city centre, we invite you to an open workshop to create your own art for the exhibition Samla & visa (Collect & Display).
The exhibition Samla & visa (Collect & Display) is coming to an end and the first artist to dismantle her work was Anastasia Savinova. Her installation We Swim in One Water / Act IV, Ocean Blue consisted of creatures that Savinova imagined might exist in the future, when nature has used all the trash left behind by humans to transform into new animals, plants and minerals.
Parts of Savinova's installation are now part of the art museum's collection and the blue, aquarium-like space that the work was displayed in is empty. We therefore want to invite our visitors to create new creatures of the future that can move into the museum during the last exhibition week!
In the open workshop you have access to similar materials that Savinova used for her installation, and can create your own creature of the future!
For inspiration, you can watch an interview with Anastasia Savinova here.
We welcome visitors of all ages to participate in our open workshops.
Open workshop Friday 2/9 and Sunday 4/9 in Plats för Skapande on floor 0.5 at Konstmuseet i Norr in Kristallen.
