Launch of the artwork Övergångar

On Saturday the 17th August, National Rivers Day, a red orb will set sail in the Torne river from Kurravaara beach. The orb is a part of the project Övergångar by the artist Jenny Nordmark and Konstmuseet i Norr. Come and celebrate the river and the launch of this artwork with us!

Programme:

11:00 – 15:00 – The community centre is open with complimentary refreshments, a creative activity for the whole family, and the opportunity to see the Övergångar globe.

11:30 – 12:00 – Musician Jan Johansson from the Tornedalen-based band Jord plays
13:00 – 13:45 – Conversation between the artist Jenny Nordmark and Konstmuseet i Norr about the project Övergångar (in Swedish).
13:45 – 14:00 – The orb’s journey begins. Starting at the community centre and heading down to the marina.
Approx. 14:00 – The orb is launched in the Torne river
14:15 – 14:30 – Last words from Konstmuseet and Jenny Nordmark 
15:00 – The community centre closes – thanks and goodbye!
