Interview with the artist Anastasia Savinova

The artist Anastasia Savinova talks about the installation We Swim in One Water / act IV, ocean blue, which is shown in the exhibition Samla & visa (Collect & Display).

We had the chance to talk to Anastasia about how she creates her creatures, about previous artwork from the We Swim in One Water series, and how she worked with the concept of a cabinet of curiosities when creating this piece.

Anastasia's interpretation involves a futuristic collection of animals and plants, that have arisen after humans have affected the order of nature. The materials and objects we have left behind in form of rubbish have become new, hybrid creatures.
