Celebrate the inauguration of Kiruna's new city centre with us!

During the inauguration of Kiruna’s new city centre, Konstmuseet i Norr has extended opening hours. We are located in the middle of the new Kiruna and offer an exciting program!

MEET THE ARTISTS

On Friday 2 September and Saturday 3 September, you have the chance to meet the artist duo Karin Keisu & Josse Thuresson at Konstmuseet i Norr. Keisu and Thuresson will show their exhibition The Language of Friction is Uttered from Within – a unique opportunity to gain an insight into the artists' own thoughts about the artworks and perhaps gain a new perspective on the meaning of language, ideals of beauty and marginality. Times: Friday: at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., Saturday: every full hour.

The artist Roger Metto, born in Kiruna, visits Konstmuseet i Norr during the inaguration days and talks about his works that are part of the exhibition Samla & visa (Collect & Display).

OPEN WORKSHOP – CREATE CREATURES OF THE FUTURE FOR Samla & visa

On Friday 2 September and Sunday 4 September, we organise workshops inspired by Anastasia Savinova's artwork We Swim in One Water / act IV, ocean blue.

In the workshop at Plats för Skapande on floor 0,5, you will create your own creature of the future, which will be displayed as part of Samla & visa (Collect & Display) until the exhibition closes on 18 September. The workshop is aimed at all ages. More information can be found here.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, we offer regular viewings of our two ongoing exhibitions: The Language of Friction is Uttered from Within and Samla & visa (Collect & Display). Times will be announced here on the website shortly.
